A 'bootleg' - such as you will find on this site - is simply "an 'unofficial' recording of a band, which was not released through, and not available for purchase from, normal channels of music distribution". In most cases these are live recordings, made either by someone attending the concert with a recording device, or by a crew member working the soundboard.
